How We Help

Every couple's journey is unique, and our retreat is tailored to address a wide range of issues, including:

  • Communication Breakdowns: Learn tools to enhance understanding and reduce conflicts.

  • Rebuilding Trust: Work through past infidelities, breaches of trust, and emotional disconnection.

  • Intimacy and Connection: Reignite the physical and emotional closeness that first brought you together.

  • Navigating Life Transitions: Support during major changes such as parenting challenges, job loss, or relocation.

  • Coping with Grief and Loss: Address the impact of loss on your relationship and find ways to heal together.

While our retreat is highly effective for many relationship concerns, it's not suitable for addressing severe mental health issues, ongoing substance abuse, or situations involving domestic violence. For these concerns, we recommend seeking specialized, ongoing therapeutic support.

What to Expect

Our retreat center where you will stay is placed in the picturesque setting of Loomis, part of Placer County in the Greater Sacramento area. Throughout the weekend, you'll engage in guided activities, discussions, and exercises designed to foster intimacy and understanding. You will have the opportunity to address old wounds, gain new insights into your relationship dynamics, and reconnect in a meaningful way.

Enjoy the tranquility of nature as you walk through the orchards or relax under the shade of the heritage oaks. This peaceful environment sets the stage for open, honest conversations and the kind of deep connection that can transform your relationship.

Hello, I’m Blair. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy and a deep commitment to meeting each person where they are in their journey. I aim to help individuals and couples live lives aligned with their values and passions, fostering healing and growth along the way.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to tailor my approach to your unique needs. In addition to traditional therapeutic techniques, I have specialized training in Christian-based treatments, offering a faith-centered path for those who desire spiritual integration in their healing process. My goal is to ensure that therapy is a space where both your emotional and spiritual well-being are nurtured.

Life is full of challenges—hurt, sadness, disappointments, and setbacks. Sometimes, we make choices, either consciously or unconsciously, that hurt the people we love the most. Therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space to explore those difficult areas of life and find a way forward. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering support as you take that first step toward healing and growth.

As a therapist, I not only listen but serve as a companion and guide to help you achieve your goals and uncover your strengths. For couples, I offer intensive therapy that combines compassion with effective therapeutic methods, including faith-based interventions when desired, to help you build stronger, more connected relationships.

Faith-Based Marriage Intensive Approach

In my work with couples, I see the relationship itself as the client. I take an integrative approach, blending Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, both of which I adapt to include faith-based principles for couples seeking a Christ-centered path forward. EFT, rooted in attachment theory, helps couples understand unmet needs and unhealthy patterns that create disconnection, while the Gottman Method provides practical tools for communication, emotional intimacy, and trust—essential elements for a thriving, God-centered relationship.

  • Who can benefit from Therapy Intensives?
If you’re ready to see things change in your life and your relationships but you don’t want to wait for that to happen next year - a Therapy Intensive may be right for you. If you have a specific topic, trauma, or stressor that you want support with - this can be the focus of your Therapy Intensive. The dedicated time will be customized specifically to you and your goals.
  • Why should I do a Therapy Intensive instead of a normal 50-minute therapy session?
Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start of the session and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Therapy Intensives are different. A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!
  • How many intensive days should I schedule?
Great question! This depends on your goals for the Therapy Intensive. Some goals can be reached in a 1 Day Intensive (3 hours), but other goals are more complex and may require a 3 Day Intensive. I can help you determine the number of days that would work best for your therapy goals.
  • If I already have a primary therapist, can I do intensive as adjunct therapy?
Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.
  • What is therapy intensive retreat?
During the retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a variety of transformative activities. Here’s what you can expect: Private counseling sessions with a highly skilled therapist, providing therapy. Exercises to help you break down barriers and strengthen your connection to yourself. Personal reflection time, with activities like journaling or one-on-one time to deepen your understanding of each other. Breaks for relaxation, ensuring you have time to reflect, rejuvenate, and connect with nature, avoiding burnout during intensive work.
  • Where will I be staying?
Our retreat is set at Jordan Farms, a peaceful and secluded countryside venue located in Loomis. This tranquil setting encourages relaxation, reflection, and a focused environment to help you truly disconnect and reconnect with yourself.
  • What is the schedule for a therapy intensive retreat?
A possible schedule could include Thursday-Saturday.
  • What amenities are included?
You’ll enjoy a comfortable, serene stay with access to the following amenities: Newly built farmhouse accommodations: Spacious 1200 square feet with a cozy bedroom, a private bathroom, and a full kitchen for your comfort. Nature walks and outdoor spaces for reflection, relaxation, and time together in the beautiful surroundings. A guided worship experience led by a local music pastor
  • What do session breaks look like?
We believe in balancing intensive work with rest and reflection. Expect the following: Short breaks between workshops and sessions for snacks and rest. Lunch and dinner breaks where you can enjoy nourishing meals and relax before continuing your journey. Free time throughout the retreat, giving you time to explore the venue, take nature walks, or simply relax in the comfort of your accommodations. This blend of structured and unstructured time ensures that you stay engaged and connected, without feeling overwhelmed.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
To ensure our therapists can dedicate their full attention and time to your retreat, we have a clear cancellation policy: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due on Day 1 of the retreat. If you cancel the retreat within 2 weeks of Day 1, you’ll be charged the full amount. If you cancel more than 2 weeks before Day 1, you may reschedule, and your deposit will be credited toward a future date. We understand that life can be unpredictable, so please reach out early if you need to reschedule.
  • Does insurance cover the cost of Intensive Therapy and Retreats?
Currently, I am an out-of-network provider and unable to take insurance. All clients can receive a superbill to submit a request for reimbursement by their behavioral health coverage within their medical benefits. Also, because an intensive retreat is a non-traditional format, insurance typically does not cover this specific treatment. Please check with your provider to understand your coverage options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Important to note: Couples Intensive Retreats are not a magic fix. They work best when both partners are committed to change, growth, and healing. Please keep in mind that these retreats are not designed for couples dealing with domestic violence, addiction, severe mental health disorders, or immediate crisis situations. For those, we recommend seeking professional mental health support tailored to your specific needs.
